Pella's Weekblad, dated January 7, 1871, p. 2, col 1: Today, after a long illness of more than three years, my beloved housewife Sychie Weeda died, aged more than forty-eight years. I lose a faithful wife in her and my children, a caring mother. However, the awareness that she fell to sleep with joy in her Savior, eases my deep sorrow.
