Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Galesburg Christian church for Mrs. Peter Zwank, 77, lifelong resident of the Galesburg area. Rev. Roy C. Leeds officiated at the rites. The Killduff quartet furnished the music. Mrs. Harold Schnug and Mrs. Freeman Kling were in charge of floral arrangements. Serving as pallbearers were Harold Schnug, Lester Hendricks, Charles Awtry, John Van Wyngarden, Wilbur Ramer and Harry Zickel. Burial was at the Oakwood cemetery in Pella.
Mrs. Zwank died early Saturday at the Mahaska hospital in Oskaloosa after an illness of eight days following a heart attack.
The daughter of Samuel and Nancy Mick, Retta Mick was born Aug. 15, 1872, on a farm southeast of Galesburg. She grew to womanhood there and was married to Peter Zwank on Nov. 1, 1893. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1943. One son, Louie, preceded his mother in death Oct. 9, 1945.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. James (Beulah) Depenning, of near Galesburg; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Louie Zwank of Pella; one sister, Mrs. Roy Cating of Monroe, and one brother, Melvin Mick of Reasnor. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Swank joined the Christian church as a girl and was a faithful member of the church throughout her life.
