MRS. REV. HAROLD KLEIN

Mrs. Harold Klein, the former Henrietta Plette, daughter of Ed and Dirkie Plette, was born at Pella, Ia. on October 9, 1901. Her early years of life were spent in Pella where she attended the Pella schools and Central College, graduating in 1928. After teaching 5 years at Castana and Greenfield, Iowa, she was united in marriage with Harold Klein at Pella in 1928. Together they shared the ministry of the Gospel in 8 Reformed Churches; Richboro, Pa.; Rochelle Park, New Jersey. At the time of her death they were at the First Reformed Church at College Point, New York. She during these years, had served as member of the Domestic Mission Board of which she recently was made a life member. The love and esteem held for her were shown, especially so during the last period of her illness, by her friends and church.

To this union were born 2 children: Kieth Klein, who presently is in military service, and Donna, Mrs. Albert Schneider of Bayside, New York.

Early on Sept. 19, 1956 at College Point, New York, she passed to her eternal reward, having reached the age of 54 years, 11 months and 10 days. Surviving beside her husband, Rev. Harold Klein, are her two children, Keith, and Donna and one grandchild. Also her father, Mr. Plette of Pella and 2 sisters, Mrs. Lucille Kelly of Hayward, Calif. and Mrs. Mae Brockway of Pella beside may other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at College Point, Long Island, New York on Thursday, Sept. 20, 1956 by the Rev. Fred Bosch and Rev. A. Nelson Doak. Her remains were brought back to Pella for final services at the First Reformed Church with the Rev. Herman J. Ridder in charge. Burial was made in Oakwood Cemetery. Katherine De Koning served as organist with the following as casket bearers: Vermon Klein, Harold Thomassen, Bert Boat, Wm. Van Peursem, Lawrence Klein, and Lester Klein.
