Mrs. Lucinda Pope, widow of the late James Pope, died at her home in Knoxville, Thursday, March 20, at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 7 days.

Lucinda Hummel, daughter of John and Mallie Hummel, was born April 13, 1878, near Monroe. On February 14, 1900, the deceased was united in marriage to James Pope, in Marion County, Iowa who died 5 years ago.

To this union four children were born, Hubert Pope and Forrest Pope, Knoxville; Mrs. Helen Waggoner, Des Moines; Mrs. Wilma Rudd, Davenport. Five grandchildren also survive, along with a sister, Mrs. Elsie McNeish, Highwood, IL; and a half-brother Leslie Hummel, Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, March 22, from the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. M. M. Pigg and the burial was made in Graceland Cemetery.
