LUCILLE GROVE

NEWTON — Lucille Grove, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 1990, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center due to heart failure. She was born Jan. 25, 1908, at Galesburg, the daughter of Arthur and Ida Winters Wheeler.

She attended rural school and wasretired from the Vernon Company. On April 14, 1926, she married Louie Grove at Newton. She lived in Galesburg her entire life until moving to Newton in 1988.

She is survived by two nephews: Francis E. Wheeler, Newton and Donald A. Wheeler, Monroe; five nieces: Lois Zimmerman, Sully, Doris (Mrs. Ken) Clausen, Newton, Norma (Mrs. Lee) Parr, Monroe, Arlene (Mrs. Robert) Schneider, Mt. Vernon, and Beverly Rawlins, Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Louie in 1972; two brothers: Max W. in 1982 and Eldon in infancy and one sister, Gelene (Mrs. Clyde) Rawlins in 1979.

Funeral services were held Jan. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home with the Rev. Frederick Kramer, chaplin [sic] at Skiff Medical Center. Burial was at the Hewitt Cemetery in rural Reasnor. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
