Obituary From “Ottumwa Daily Courier,” Friday, October 23, 1959:

ELDON–George L. Funk, 61, died at Veterans hospital in Knoxville this morning. He had been ill 17 years.

He was born June 8, 1898, near Agency, the son of Lambert and Anna Brown Funk. He was a veteran of World war 1 and farmed until his health failed. He was married August 12, 1919, to Myrtle Reno, who survives. He was a member of the Agency Masonic lodge and a past patron of the Batavia Order of Eastern Star and a member of the First Methodist church in Ottumwa.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Martin of Parker, Ariz.; and a sister, Mrs. Dwight Anderson of Agency.

The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell funeral home in Eldon. Masonic rites will be held at the Agency cemetery.
