Pella's Weekblad dated June 13, 1890, p. 5, col 2: Thomas Barrett of Knoxville: Wednesday of last week there was in the north-western part of our county a sad accident. Mr. Thomas Barrett of Knoxville, someone who was fairly well known by the whole county because he has for many years engaged in the building and maintenance of our county bridges, was working in the vicinity of the town of Swan. With several workmen, they had placed a pole into the ground, but the rope slipped and the pole fell onto Mr. Barrett. Unfortunately, the weight of the pole killed him instantly. He had reached the age of 67 years. His funeral was the following day at Knoxville. [Translated by J.Smith.] He appears to be FG 118526609.
