Mr. Van Meveren was married again in 1892 to Elizabeth Dexter, of Boyden, Iowa. This union was blessed with seven children. A daughter, who died in infancy, a son, Earl, passed away in 1937. Leaving five sons and one daughter with a faithful wife to mourn his passing. Harry, of near Holland, Minnesota; Guy of Tracy; Minnie, Mrs. Campbelle, of Haywarden, Iowa, Arie of Tracy; Elmer and Ted of Wabasso, Minnesota. All the children were present at the last rites. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He has been a resident of Murray County the past 40 years. He was very much interested in farming a good man with a threshing machine, honest and respected by all who had dealings with him. He spent most of the 40 years near Chandler. He was always happy and contented until the last. His passing on May 20th, 1948 was a pieceful one. He said to those about him, "I'm Tired" and laid down and went into a sleep, from which he never awoke.
At the time of his death he was looking forward to his 86th birthday. When saying goodbyes to callers he always finished by saying, "I'll see you on my birthday."
He was a man of happy disposition and will greatly missed by those who knew him best. The pallbearers were six grandsons of the deceased. The funeral was held from the Omes Funeral Home at Tracy and burial was made in the Lake Wilson cemetery, Sunday, May 23, 1948.
