Treva Mae Dieleman, daughter of Albert and Susie Monsma Buitenwerf, was born February 11, 1920, in Sully, Iowa. She attended school at Sully and graduated from Sully High School in 1937. She then attended Penn College and received her teacher's certificate. Treva taught for one and one-half years at the Taintor School northeast of Sully.

On February 1, 1940, she was united in marriage with Marion Dieleman at the home of Reverand and Mrs. Richard De Jong in Sully. To this union two children were born: Darrell Lee and Sherry Kay.

Marion and Treva farmed north of Sully and the New Sharon area for fifty-three years. When they retired, they moved to Pella where they resided for eight years before moving to Fair Haven East.

Treva was a long-time member of the Sully Reformed Church and was a member of the Martha Circle. She loved doing handwork, especially quilting and counted cross stitch. She was also famous for her homemade buns.

Treva passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013, at the Crystal Heights Nursing Home in Oskaloosa, Iowa, at the age of ninety-three.

Those who will cherish her memory are: her daughter, Sherry Dieleman of Pella and her children: Doug Netten and his fiancé Kim Brazil, his daughter, Tara, and her son, Payton Beason, Scott and Jodee Netten and their children: Blake, Aubrey, and Kaeman, Kelly and Julie LaFollette and their children: Austin, Caleb, and Sage; the late Darrell and daughter-in-law Beth Dieleman of Pella and his children: Kim and Randy Smith and their children: Megan and Zachary, Michael and Ann Dieleman and their children Matthew and Gracie, Kristy and Dave Trzeciak and their children Jack and Connor; and a sister-in-law, Kee Buitenwerf of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marion on November 30, 2012; her son, Darrell Dieleman on April 9, 2008; her sister, Grace Bandstra and her husband, Ray; and brother, Howard Buitenwerf. ~ The Garden Chapel Funeral Home, Pella, Iowa.
