Services for Bernice O. Burch, 66, of Marana, Ariz., formerly of Des Moines, who died of cancer Wednesday in Tucson, Ariz., will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Ambrose Cathedral. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Burch was born in Melcher and lived in Osceola and Des Moines most of her life. She moved to Marana in 1977. In 1963, she retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. She was a member of United Rubber Workers Local 310, the Moose and Eagle Lodges in Osceola and St. Christopher Catholic Church in Marana.

Survivors include her husband, Lester; a daughter, Peggy Reed of Des Moines; two sons, Larry Mihalovich of Colorado and Richard Burch of Elkhart; two sisters, Marjorie Swartfager of Ankeny and Louise Woodruff of Riviera, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 8 a.m. today until service time on Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Sun 6 Oct 1985.
