William Parker Killed
Another Marion county boy gave his life for his country when William Parker died on September 5. from wounds received in action. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Parker, of Everist, and the second son within six weeks to lose his life over there. The other son John, was reported missing on July 22.
William went to Camp Dodge in May and was assigned to the infantry. He was there only a couple of weeks when he was sent with others to fill up companies in the east to war strength, and was in France in less than two months after entering service. He was employed by the Mammoth vein Coal Company before going to camp.
Mr. and Mrs. Parker have another son in the training camps here and one that will go with the next draft.
