A Celebration of the Life of Virginia Anderson, 81, of Knoxville, who died Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Knoxville Area Community Hospital, was held Wednesday, June 5, at Williams Funeral Home. Rev. Sheldon Starkenburg officiated at the services. Music was provided by Chelsea Murrow, vocalist and Darlene Mooberry, organist. Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Casketbearers were Billy Anderson, Andy and Matt Nichols, Don Norton, and David and Kevin Storm. Honorary bearers were Todd Hammann, Mike Ross and Jeff Storm.

Virginia was born on June 7, 1920, in rural Marion County. She was the daughter of Florence Elenore (Jury) and John Clement Harvey. She attended the Rising Star Country School. She had been employed by Continental Manufacturing. She and her husband, Howard, spent the winters in Texas. She was an active member of the Disciples of Christ Christian Church. Her family meant the world to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Harold Hartshorn; second husband, William Howard Anderson, Sr.; two sisters, Edith Wright and JoAnn Fankhauser; and four brothers, Wesley, John, Leland and Elton (Ike) Harvey.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Bill Anderson, Jr. of Knoxville, Connie and Dave Storm of Knoxville and Luanne Nichols and significant other Mike of Columbia; two sisters, Ethel Loomis and Myretta Rowland both of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Knoxville Rescue Unit. Arrangements were made by Williams Funeral Home.
