Deloris Irene Burgett was born on March 17, 1927 to Florence and Lloyd Burgett.
She grew up on a farm near Oakley, Iowa. She attended school in Chariton and in Melcher, graduating from Dallas Consolidated School in 1946.
In 1947 Deloris got a job in Des Moines as a nurse's aide at Iowa Methodist Hospital and was working at a hobby store in Des Moines when she was married to William Warner. After moving back to Melcher-Dallas, she operated a hobby and craft shop out of her home next to the Dallas School, selling ice cream, candy, and hobby items for many years.
After William's death in 1968, Deloris worked for the school as a teacher's aide and then in 1973 she began working for Marion County Homemaker Service as a Home Health Aide. She did this for 17 years and continued to help and care for others up until recent years.
Deloris was a member of the Pochahontas Lodge-Keota No. 89, The Dallas Christian Church and it's Women's Society (CWF). She loved religious music and collected recipes and napkins.
Deloris passed away October 7, 2008 in Norwalk.
She was preceded in death by her husband William, parents and siblings: Sid Burgett, Maxine Lindquist, Don Burgett, and Dwaine Burgett, Luella Nadine Burgett.
She will be missed by her children: Dennis (Debbie) Warner of Beecher City, IL, Garlynn (David) Imel of Osceola, Brenda (John) Casper of Pella, and Craig (Mary) Warner of Des Moines; 8 grandchildren: Sarah (Dan) Kinzinger, Seth (Shelby) Warner, Susie (Chad) Reed, Michael (Amber) Thomsen, Kassandra Sneller, Casey Sneller, Marilyn Warner, and Craig Warner Jr.; 4 great grandchildren; and siblings: Mary Louise Pedrin of El Cajon, CA, and Richard (Donna) Burgett of Elk River, MN.
