Mott, Jeanette Margaret (Brus) 1939-2007

Jeanette Margaret (Brus) Mott was born on Dec. 14, 1939, in Denison, the daughter of Henry Brus and Margaret (Weller) Brus.

She was born and raised in Denison and graduated from Denison High School. She then attended the Jennie Edmundson School of nursing school in Council Bluffs, graduating in 1961. Jeanette moved to Knoxville and worked for the VA Hospital.

On June 2, 1963, she was united in marriage to Benny E. Mott at the First United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, N.M. The couple has lived on Benny's farm in rural Pleasantville since their marriage.

Jeanette was employed as the school nurse for the Pleasantville District for several years and later took a job at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital. She retired from the hospital in 2002.

Jeanette was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville and the Rebecca Circle. She and Benny enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family. She will be remembered as a great person of service who was cherished by her family and loved by many friends.

Jeanette passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at the Knoxville Hospital at the age of 67.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joan and her brother-in-law, Marvin Nobling.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Benny; children, Mary (Mike) Petermeier of Carlisle and Michael (Paulette) Mott of Pleasantville; six grandchildren and her siblings, Henry (Norma) Brus of Council Bluffs, George Brus of Holstein, Jerry (Millie) Brus of Denison, Judy Nobling of Humboldt, and Dwight Brus, John (Ann) Brus and Steve (Sandy) Brus all of Denison.
