Lillian Mae Buzzard was born on Feb. 22, 1922, in Corning to James William Cooper and Charlotte (Teal) Cooper.
As a girl, Lillian was raised in Newton and she moved to California as a young adult. She later lived in Colorado before moving to Knoxville in 1966. She worked at Braida's Grocery Store as a clerk and then for Supervalu. She retired from Supervalu as a cook in the Deli in 1989.
Lillian was well-known for cooking and baking and she loved doing both for her church and family. She taught Sunday School at the Apostolic Church for years and was a deeply religious woman who was devoted to her God and her children and grandchildren.
Lillian passed away on April 11, 2007, at Griffin Nursing Center at the age of 85.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debbie Farrell; grandson, Saylor Greene and three brothers, Larry, Robert and John Cooper.
Survivors include two daughters, Jayme Powell of Beebe, Ark. and Jill Buzzard of Knoxville, five grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Geery of Harvey and Mary Jo Polo of Williamson and a brother Jim Cooper of Russell.
Funeral services were held on April 14 at the Apostolic Church with Pastor Charles Rutter officiating.
Interment was in Eureka Cemetery in Harvey.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Central Iowa or to the Apostolic Church.
