Funeral services for Floyd Roland who died March 11 at his home, were held March 13 from Williams Funeral Home with Rev Edmund Kleidon officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Casketbearers were Robert Mavin, Fred Frazier Jr, Raymond Vohl, Denny Wooldridge, Lee Deeringer, and Roy Mavin. Mrs Helen Sutherland, organist accompanied Mrs June McKeever, soloist. Flower committee was Mrs Ethyl Mavin and Mrs Helen Frazier.

Floyd Arthur, son of Hiram and Emma Gray Roland, was born May 18, 1900 at Knoxville and spent his entire life here as a coal miner. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, four brothers and one stepson, Elmo Knowles.

He is survived by his wife, Eva; three sons, Ray of Attica, John of Indianola, and Rodger, at home; seven grandchildren, two brothers, Ted of Truro and Ben of Knoxville, and two sisters, Mrs Loucille Mattix of Truro and Mrs Hallie Young of Des Moines.
