Marian Edna Wolf was born on May 30, 1923, in Chicago, Ill. to Edward and Vera (Christianson) McGuire.
She was raised in Chicago and moved to Des Moines after the war. Marian married Leonard M. Wolf at Camp Crowder Chapel in Neosho, Mo. on April 23, 1944. In 1974 the couple moved to Dallas, Texas where they would spend 12 years. They also lived in Rogers, Ark. for 15 years, Van Buren, Ark. for four years and Grand Prairie, Texas for a year before moving back to Pella in May 2006.
Marian was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines. She also volunteered with the Girl Scouts and was active on the fundraising committee for the hospital. In her free time, she enjoyed crafts, including crocheting, knitting, making afghans and making dolls.
Marian passed away on Aug. 31, 2006, at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House at the age of 83.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Lee Bullington and a great-grandson, Wyatt Sligar.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard; four daughters, Vergean Ward (Jim) of Fayetteville, Ark.; Judi Malone (Steve) of Grand Prairie, Texas; Diane Monson (Larry) of Des Moines and Janis Goad (Denny) of Knoxville; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Hoyt of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 2 at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Peterson officiating.
Interment was in Olive Chapel Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Pella Comfort House.
