Corwin Ray "Corky" Stringfellow was born April 12, 1956, in Des Moines, the son of Corwin Worth Stringfellow and Bonnie Lee (Schone) Stringfellow.

Corky was baptized as an infant at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He was raised in Pleasantville and graduated with the Class of 1974. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, music, Jeopardy and reading. Corky loved his God and all creatures, especially cats. He also loved all people, especially his treasured friends, whom he valued as extended family, He was always one to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered as a great friend to many in the Pleasantville community.

He passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at his home at the age of 50.

He was preceded in death by his father, aunt, Patricia Boswell; grandparents, Dr. Ray and Grace Stringfellow and his companion, Connie Isenberg.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie McGilvrey of Des Moines, and his aunt, Betty Stringfellow and her children, Steve, Ray and Grace of Washington, Ill., and many other family members and friends.

Funeral Services were held at Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville with Pastor Jeff Flagg officiating.

Interment was in the Pleasantville Cemetery.
