On Friday evening, July 20, a camping party went from Pleasantville to the river. Shortly after their arrival Wm. Richards, who was among the bathers, got beyond his depth and was drowned. The body was recovered in about a quarter of an hour but life was extinct.

Deceased was born near Pleasantville, April 5, 1870. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn his loss.
