Henry Vander Rozenberg 1848-1928

Henry Vander Rozenberg (my great-great-grandfather) was born in 1848 in Oldebrock, The Netherlands. He and his wife Derrekje Dkkuizan Rozenberg (abt 1840-1983), emigrated to the United States and settled in Pella, Lake Prairie Township, Marion County in 1869. They remained in the Pella area raising seven children--one unknown child, Dene, Mary, Benjamin, William, Henry, and my great-grandmother Maggie Rozenberg (b 1884) who married Leendert (alias Leonard, Lene)Wielaard (b. 1880), the proprietor of the L. Wielaard Variety Store in Pella.

The 1910 and 1920 Census of the United States; Dutch America Immigration Records 1800's; Funeral Notices for my grandparents (Arie Van Gent, 1898-1970, and Agnes Wielaard Van Gent, 1904-1997) both also buried at the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella; records from the Raymond Yantes World Family Tree; Original pictures in original card casings from the following portrait studios - Reuvers Studio in Pella (late 1800's); Cabinet Portrait New Sharon, Iowa, and Keables of Washington Street in Pella from the early 1900's, picture postcard of the L. Wielaard Variety Store in Pella (early 1900's).
