A memorial service for Glen Van Zee, 82 of Dayton who died Feb. 9, will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd, Kettering, Oh. on Feb. 13, at 1:30 with Reverend John Parent officiating.

He was born in Oskaloosa on Dec. 22, 1921, the son of Dick and Elizabeth Van Zee.

He entered the US Army Corps in February 1943 and served as a two-engine pilot in the 332nd Troop Carrier Squadron in the Chinese Theater of Operations. He served tour of duty in Yokato and Wakkani, Japan and both Lincoln and Omaha, Neb. with the Strategic Air Command for ten years. He was stationed in Washington, DC with OSI. He retired from the Air Force in 1974 while stationed at Kelly Air Force Base, Tex. Prior to his tour at Kelly AFB he was stationed at DESC in Kettering, Oh.. Glen received many awards during his 32 years of distinguished military service in both the United States Army Air Corps and United States Air Force.

He is survived by two brothers: Eugene and wife Dorothy Van Zee of Gibson, and Clarence and his wife June Van Zee of Noblesville, Ind.
