Funeral services for Gladys Renaud, 79, of Sully, who passed away Dec. 4, were held Monday, December 8, at the First Reformed Church in Sully. Rev. Roger Punt, officiated and Rev. Brice Hoyt, assisted Music was provided by Kirk Dunsbergen, organist.

Interment was at the Sully Cemetery in Sully. Casket bearers were Marvin Renaud, LaVerne Renaud, Keith Renaud, Dennis Renaud, Arie Scholten and Chadwick Ver Ploeg.

Gladys Elscott was born April 21,1924 to John and Maggie Brand Elscott. On January 14, 1943 she was united in marriage with James Roscoe Renaud in Oskaloosa. To this union five children were born: Marvin Eugene, LaVerne Ray, Elaine Lucille, Keith Dale and Dennis Lee. Following their marriage, James and Gladys farmed near Taintor until 1951 when they purchased a farm southeast of Searsboro.

Gladys is survived by her husband James R. Renaud; their five children and their spouses: Marvin and Nancy Renaud of Grinnell; LaVerne R. and Nancie Renaud of Albia; Elaine L. and Arie Scholten of Sully; Keith D. and Glenda Renaud of Lynnville; and Dennis L. and Melanie Renaud of Searsboro; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her four sisters and their husbands: Jennie and Harold Geurts of Sully; Ellen and Francis Van Zante; Grace and John H. Renaud; and Irene and Chadwick Ver Ploeg all of Pella; and a sister-in-law, Verna (Glen) Elscott of Sully, Iowa.

Gladys was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Keisha Renaud; her parents: John and Maggie Elscott; and her two brothers: Elmer Elscott and Glen Elscott.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.
