Obituary: John C. TANDY was born in Mahaska County, Iowa, July 20, 1868, and departed this life February 26, 1898, aged 29 years, 7 months, and 6 days. He was married to Anna E. Rhinehart, August 24, 1890. He united with the Reformed church at Leighton, Iowa, April 12, 1891, and remained in that faith until death. He leaves a devoted wife, a loving father and mother and three sisters to mourn, but who, because of the patience and faith of the departed, have ...assurances that if faithful they will ...their loved one again in the sweet by and by. Through the trying ordeals of many years, John was patient, enduring...cross like a true soldier until the battle of life was over. The funeral services were held at the First Reformed church on Monday, February 28, at 10 a.m., Rev. R. Lackey, the pastor, preaching the service... A large crowd was present and the floral offerings were beautiful. The White lilies were given by the Y.P.S.C.E., of which he was a member. He was buried in the Olivet Cemetery. MaY God in His infinite love comfort the sorrowing ones.
