Steve J. Posovich, 78, of Oskaloosa, died Monday in Oskaloosa. He was married to Sally Johnson of Centerville at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. Steve began a career in finance, working for Iowa Finance (later AVCO Finance) in several towns in Iowa. They moved to Oskaloosa from Cherokee in 1965. In 1971, he joined Mahaska State Bank and helped establish Mahaska Investment Company (MIC).
His family includes his wife of 56 years, Sally of Oskaloosa; five children; sixteen grandchildren; and two sisters.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery with graveside military rites. Visitation will begin at the Bates Funeral Chapel on Thursday after 11 a.m. and the family will be present 5 to 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church or to MHP Serenity House.
