Voyan Scott Stringfellow Kelley, 89, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, July 7, at Oakwood Nursing & Rehab Center in Albia. Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, the Rev. Max Johnson and the Rev. Harold Schutte officiating. Burial: Wymore Cemetery in Monroe Township, Mahaska County. Visiting hours are open at the funeral chapel, with family present 7-8 p.m. today. Memorials: First Assembly of God Church in Oskaloosa.
Voyan Kelley was born Nov. 13, 1910, in Illinois, to Robert and Lucy Stainbrook Scott. She attended New Sharon area schools and graduated from New Sharon High SChool in 1928. She married Paul Orin Stringfellow on Feb. 2, 1929. He died Aug. 2, 1971. She married Paul Kelley on June 3, 1974, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died May 13, 1986. She taught country school at Pleasant Ridge School No. 2 from 1955 to 1959. She attended William Penn College 1954-1959. She was a member of Oskaloosa Business Women's Association. She owned and operated the Ambassador Rest Home for 14 1/2 years.
She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two brothers: Galord and Delmer Scott; and a sister, Mary Sanders. (The Oskaloosa Herald, date unknown)
