Henry Hensel died at his home, 4 miles northwest of Rose Hill, Saturday, Sept. 22, 1906, at 9 p.m., aged 77 years, 5 months and 2 days. He enlisted in the Mexican war and served in the Civil war in the 15th Iowa. The funeral services were conducted at the house by Rev. J. D. Guthrie. The service was very impressive and of much thought. Interment was made in Bedwell cemetery, where a large body of his relatives and friends and neighbors followed his remains.
