MURRAY VAN STEENIS

Murray M. Van Steenis, 73, died Wednesday night at the Tower Park Nursing Home.

He was born Aug. 18, 1889, at Lacey, the son of William and Martha Van Brogen Van Steenis.

Survivors include his wife Velma, two daughters, Mrs. Norma Allgood of Oskaloosa and Mrs. Iola Fleck of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two sons, Robert of Oskaloosa and Donald of Eddyville; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Loren Van Steenis of Hartselle, Ala. and Virgil (Kirk) Van Steenis of Santa Ana, Calif., one sister, Mrs. Irene Van Maanan of Pella.

The funeral was held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Garland Chapel with the Rev. Max Johnson and the Rev. Russell Sporer officiating.

Burial was at the Porter Grove Cemetery near Leighton.
