Mrs. Beulah Jane Moore, age 53, wife of Harley O. Moore, died suddenly at 8:00 o'clock Saturday evening, January 20, 1939, while in town, following a brief illness. She became suddenly ill with a heart attack near the Wilcox-Garland furniture store and was taken inside the store, where she died a short time later. Dr. F.J. Jarvis was immediately summoned.
She was the daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs. L. M. Towns and was married to Mr. Moore December 18, 1906. Six children were born to his union, four of whom with their father, survive- Ione, at home; Wilma, member of the Mahaska hospital nursing staff; Fanniemae, English and home making department instructor at Truro high school, and J. Lewis, who farms the home place. Surviving also are one daughter-in-law and four grandchildren, Owen, Jimmie, Jane and Ferry; her twin sister, Blanche Towns of Oskaloosa; two brothers, Truman of Oskaloosa and Homer of Rose Hill; an aunt, Mrs. Tom Chick of University Park, and many first cousins.
Funeral services at the Wilcox-Garland chapel Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. Ervin E. Stringfellow of Drake university will be in charge with Rev. Edgar L. Knight of the First Christian church assisting. Burial in Wymore cemetery. (source unknown; likely Oskaloosa Herald).
