Seigle F. Broerman, son of Harmon and Mary Broerman, was born on a farm five miles east of Oskaloosa on October 23, 1862, and there spent his entire lifetime. He succumbed to a heart attack at 5:30 p.m. Friday, January 21, 1938. He was 75 years, two months and 28 days old. He was married to Grace Irene Martin on November 29, 1900, who preceded him in death on October 24, 1934. To this union were born three children, Herman and Frederick of Oskaloosa, and Mrs. Fern Willamon of Fremont. Also surviving are four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Wilcox-Garland chapel on Monday, January 24, 1938, with Dr. George G. Bruce of the First Presbyterian church in charge. Burial was made in Forest cemetery.
