Sarah Anna Sarvis died December 22, 1900, of heart trouble, falling from her chair, dying instantly. The funeral services were held at Wymore church at 2 o'clock p.m., December 24, conducted by Rev. G.M. Vallandingham of Rose Hill. Interment in Wymore cemetery. The aged companion and children have the sympathy of the community in their sad sudden bereavement.
Sarah Anna McMains was born in Montgomery county near Pleasant Hill in Indiana, March 20, 1835. She died at the date of 65 years, 9 months, and 2 days. She was the daughter of Wm. and Elizabeth McMains, being one of their five children. The others are James McMains of Oklahoma, Robert, who died in the Army of the Rebellion, a sister, Mary Lee, living in Audubon county, Iowa. The subject of this sketch was married to William Sarvis, Sept. 6th, 1855. To the union was born eight children, all living except Nancy E. Barnard, deceased.
