Mary Perry, 102, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, Sept.23. Service will be 10:30 a.m. at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Kevin Klucas officiating. Interment: Forest Cemetery. Visitation begins 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials: Evangelical Church.
Mrs. Perry was born March 2, 1893, in Pella to Mathew and Elizabeth Van Gorp. She married Carl Perry in 1911. They owned and operated the Jack Spratt Grocery Store in Beacon and then later a grocery store near Jefferson Elementary School in Oskaloosa. She was a member of the Evangelical Church in Oskaloosa.

Survivors include a son and his wife: James and Elizabeth Perry of Arcata, Calif.; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and a close friend: Betty White of Oskaloosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Kenneth Perry; and a daughter-in-law, Evaleen Perry.
