Elvion "Static" Guyer, 78, of New Sharon died Friday, May 16, 1997 at Grinnell Regional Hospital.
He was born on September 5, 1918 near Lewistown, Montana to Byron and Myrtle Workman Guyer. He married Margaret Meyer on September 28, 1940. He was in the Navy in World War II. He was self-employed, owned E.M. Guyer Plumbing and Heating in New Sharon and retired in 1976. He was a member of the Coffin-Miller Post #446 in New Sharon, and the West Liberty Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of New Sharon; a son, Bruce Guyer of New Sharon; a daughter, Sharon Kay Burke of Santee, CA; two brothers, Harry Guyer of Montezuma, and Gerald Guyer of Milwaukee, WI.; a sister, Clovis Hollman of Grinnell; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ralph, Roy, and Dale Guyer; and two sisters, Della Meldrem and Clarice Rivers.
Service were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 19 at Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon. Burial was in Highland Cemetery near New Sharon, with military honors by Coffin-Miller Post #446.
Memorials may be made to the West Liberty Church of Christ.
