PASSES AWAY(From the Montezuma Republican)
Funeral services were said for Joshua Foster, aged 75 years, at two o'clock Monday afternoon from the Union Mills Christian church, with the Rev. Harold Bentley in charge. Burial was made in the Union Mills cemetery. Mr. Foster died following an illness of a few hours at his home in Union Mills.
Joshua foster was born in Baltimore county, Maryland, Jan. 13, 1855 and died at his home at Union Mills, Dec. 26 1930, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 13 days. He was united in marriage to Frances Permelia Brooks on July 7 1878. To this union were born five children, Joshua Foster came here with his parents in 1857, and his entire life has been spent in Mahaska county. He was of a quiet disposition, a kind father, a good neighbor, beloved by all who knew him.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife Permelia, five children, Emmett of San Francisco, Charlie of Malcom, Mrs. Daisy Robertson of Deep River, Thomas at home, and James of Oskaloosa; also three sisters, Mrs. George Lamond of Montezuma, Mrs. Erie Saunders and Mrs. Mary Chrissman of Kansas; two brothers, John and Seile? of Browntown; eight grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The pallbearers were his nephews, Dennis Foster, Howard Foster, Ross Brooks, Mark Brooks, Ray Sheeley and Floyd Lamond.
