Rose Hill- Jessie Marie Clark, 73, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, Sept. 28, at Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa. Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa. Burial: Olivet Cemetery northwest of Oskaloosa. Visiting hours begin 1 p.m Monday at the funeral chapel, with family present 7-8 p.m. Monday. Memorials: to her family or Mahaska Hospice.
Jessie Marie Clark was born April 6, 1928, in Anderson, Mo., to Harley and Myrtle Nelson Stanbro. She married Walter Clark Jr. on May 24, 1948, at the Free Methodist Church in Oskaloosa. He died May 14, 1994. Jessie was a homemaker and worked at the Continental Overall Factory in Oskaloosa, then for Pella Corp., and lastly for Kingsbury Homes in Sigourney. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Oskaloosa and Rose Hill Community Church in Rose Hill.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Mona and Jerry Coatney of Pella; three grandchildren: Jerry Lee, Tony and Jennifer Coatney; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Beulah Schwab and Florence Stanbro, both of Oskaloosa, and Frances and Larry Waddle of Ottumwa; and two brothers and sisters-in-law: Grant and Sharon Stanbro in Washington state, and Elvin and Nora Stanbro of Oskaloosa.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Cecil, Edgar, and David Stanbro.
