HIATT - Arthur A. HIATT, died at his home in East Des Moines township Tuesday, October 17, 1939, at the age of 65 years following a heart attack. Mr. HIATT established the J.C. Penney company store in Oskaloosa in 1922 and remained here until he was transferred to Indianola in April, 1933 and Ivan SHILEY came here. He remained there three years before he retired. He spent the winter in Florida. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Bertha HIATT, one son, Jack of Belvidere, Ill., a brother Walter HIATT of Oskaloosa and a sister, Mrs. Grace FANROT of Smith Center, Kan. Funeral services and burial will be at Lamar, Mo. Friends may call at Wilcox-Garland chapel.
