The many friends of C.V. Hoffman of the Oskaloosa Herald, were pained last week to learn of the death of his daughter, Gladys, who was just budding into young womanhood. Her death resulted from burns caused by a gasoline explosion. She was cleaning gloves with gasoline and started to dry them over a stove, when the gasoline ignited, burning her so severly that she died the next day. Mr. Hoffman has a large circle of friends among his newspaper brethren who extend their sympathy to him in his great sorrow.
