George McMullen

Mrs. Harold L. Jones of Hayesville received word that her uncle George Ezra McMullen of Des Moines died Sunday, Feb. 27 in the Iowa Veterans Home at Marshalltown where he had been living.

He was born October 10, 1891 at Indianapolis, Iowa, to George and Anna Wells McMullen.

He was a barber for years in Des Moines, farmed in What Cheer area, and was a painter of pictures.

He is survived by a sister, Esther Phillips of Scottsdale, Arizona, a foster daughter, Tammy Nelson of Ames, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Mary Hoffstattler and Frances Minor; three brothers, Johnny, Earl, Col. Floyd and two sisters, Minnie Morris and Marguerite Storey.

Graveside service was at Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, March 3, 1983.
