NORMA ALMOND
1927 - 2003

Norma Almond, 75, of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, at her home. The body has been cremated and no visiting hours are planned. A graveside memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Friends Cemetery in Oskaloosa, the Rev. Robert Busher officiating. Memorials: Mahaska Hospice. Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa is in charge of arrangements.

Normal Almond was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Mahaska county to Hershel and Mona Riley Cloe. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School. On Jan. 24, 1946, she married Archie Almond. She was a homemaker, and also worked as an L.P.N. at the old Mahaska Manor Nursing Home in Oskaloosa. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oskaloosa.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law: Marilyn Almond and Jane and Steven Sage, all of Oskaloosa; and a son and daughter-in-law: James and Mitzi Almond of Oskaloosa; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Clarissa Kay Morrow; a sister, Marilyn (June) White; and a brother James Cloe.
