Walla Walla, Wash.Mrs. Ida Harkins, Aged Pomeroy Matron, Dies
Pomeroy—Mrs. Ida Harkins, age 91, died at the Garfield County Memorial hospital in Pomeroy on Tuesday evening.
Ida May Yeoman was born in Oshkosh, Wis., on May 6, 1856, the daughter of Richard Yeoman and Fanny Axtell Yeoman. When she was one, the family moved to Lorain county, Ohio and later to Fremont, Iowa.
She was married on November 13, 1877 to Joseph H McFall, who died May 18, 1889. In 1904 she married James H, Harkins, who died in 1920. Mrs. Harkins came to Pomeroy in 1927 and has made her home here since that time. She had been a member of the Methodist church for the past 53 years and also a member of the W.C.T.U. of Pomeroy and a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter, Louis L. McFall of San Bernardino, Calif., David C. McFall of Pomeroy and Mrs. Guy Clarke of Sebeka, Minnesota.
The funeral services were held in Pomeroy on Saturday afternoon with Rev. Myron Sharrard if the Methodist church officiating. She was buried in the family plot in the Pomeroy cemetery.
