Gerrit Van Houweling, residing five miles east of Pella, died as a result of pneumonia, on Sunday, February 8th, 1920. Mr. Van Houweling was born November 27, 1885, made confession of his faith and united with the Ebenezer Reformed Church of Leighton, Iowa, on July 3rd, 1910. On February 23, 1911, he married to Catherine Marie Van Zante, who departed this life on April 23, 1919. He leaves besides two small children, five brothers, and two sisters. The funeral services were held at the Ebenezer Reformed church of Leighton, on February 11th, and the body was laid to rest in the Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Van Houweling lived a consistent Christian life and we cherish the precious belief that he has entered into the presence of his Savior whom he confessed and served on earth. The relatives hereby express their thanks to the neighbors and friends for their sympathy and service.
