Sarah Broherd Besco November 23, 1851-September 6, 1923

Funeral services were held in the family home Saturday afternoon, September 8, 1923 for Mrs. G. F. Besco. The services were conducted by Rev. John Dye.

Sarah Eldreth Broherd, daughter of James M. and Susan Belshe Broherd was born in Dahlonega, Iowa and passed away in Eddyville, Iowa

She moved with her family to Eddyville in 1867. She married George Fredrick Besco, December 28, 1871 in the family home which is now known as the Goldbach place. To this union was born ten children, John Quincy of Albia, Jessie Myrtle Chilton of Eddyville, James Clifton of Ottumwa, Georgia Moss of Pleasant Corners, Margie Steele of Fredric, Susie Miller of Pleasant Corners, Joseph Fredrick of Russell, Jared Royal of Ottumwa, Olive Hazel of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and Jerome Irl of Russell, Iowa.

She is survived by all of her children and her sister, Kalista Hilligoss of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and her brother, J. M. Broherd of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Laura Bousam of Marshalltown, Iowa, Mrs. J. H. Besco of Eddyville and her sister-in-law, Amanda Broherd, all passing away in 1923.

Sarah Eldreth Broherd Besco is buried at Highland Cemetery, Eddyville, Iowa
