Elmo Boatenhammer
Saturday morning the town was thrown into a terrible excitement when it was learned that Elmo Boatenhammer, had fallen into the loading bin at the farmer's elevator. The machinery was in motion and he was drawn down into the oats. There was about 500 bushels of oats in the bin. He was drawn to the spout where the oats come out into the car. Quite a large hole had to be made in the side of the building before he could be got out. He was dead when they found him. All was done that possibly could be done. The pulmotor was brought over from Oskaloosa but it failed to restore him. He was visiting at the home of his uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wymore, when the accident occurred. His home is in North English. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 11 a. m. at the M. E. church, conducted by Rev. C. C. Jones, and burial at Union Mills cemetery. The parents and sisters have the sympathy of all in their sad bereavement.
