Sudden Death of Charles Beadle
Chas Beadle, an old-time business man of Oskaloosa, dropped dead at his home on South Market Street about 6:30 o'clock Monday morning. He had gone to the basement to do some work and his daughter Hazel, hearing an unusual noise in the basement, went down and found him lying on the floor. She gave the alarm and a physician was at once summoned. Although there in a short time, Mr. Beadle had passed away. He had been suffering for a number of years from leakage of the heart and diabetes, but was apparently better and was making arrangements for a trip to Colorado in his auto.
He was the owner of what is known as the Pythian Block, on High Ave, west, which was burned about a year and a half ago, and has since been rebuilt.
Deceased was twice married and is survived by the widow and three children, William of Anaconda, Colorado, Fred of Oskaloosa and Mrs. Bessie Mitchell of Florence, Colorado, In addition to these there are four sisters, Mrs. Dell James of Beacon, Mrs. Harriet Smith of Buxton, Mrs. Bessie Brown of Lucas, Miss Julia Beadle of Colorado and a brother Robert of Beacon.
