The New Sharon Star, January 14, 1943. Mrs. Emma L. CROWDER Passed Away at Home of Daughter. Mrs. Emma L. CROWDER, of Oskaloosa, mother of Mrs. McVAY, died at the home of Mrs. McVAY at 5:30 o'clock Saturday evening, January 9, 1943, at the age of 81 years. Mrs. CROWDER who had been staying with her daughter for the past few months became ill and suffered a stroke of paralysis about two weeks ago. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lena McVAY of New Sharon and Mrs. Alma WARDER of Farson, two sons, Granville and Paul CROWDER both of Oskaloosa, and three sisters, Mrs. Jane WILLIAMS of Springfield, Ill., Mrs. Etta CARBARY of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Bertha KINCAID of Boulder, Colo. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Wilcox-Garland Chapel at Oskaloosa at 3:30 afternoon with Rev. Edgar L. KNIGHT in charge. Burial was made in Forrest Cemetery.
