OTTUMWA. Ralph Dewey BAKER, 71, R.1, Ottumwa, died Thurs. at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. Funeral will be Sat. 1 p.m. Fremont Funeral Chapel; burial will be in Fell Cemetery at Libertyville.

Born May 3, 1898, in Mahaska County near Buxton, and lived in Wapello County most of his life. Son of Sherman W. and Carrie RUGGLES BAKER and was a member of the Baker Six orchestra for a number of years. He was the first school bus route driver for the Ottumwa schools and for many years worked with youth and coached baseball teams. Married July 16, 1931, to Gladys Irene SKINNER at Memphis, Mo. She survives, also one son, Rev. Harold BAKER, Bloomfield, and four granddaughters.
