Announcement has been made by Mr. and Mrs. Roy C. Palmer of Eddyville of the marriage of their raughter [sic], Dorothy to Burton Blanchard Jerrel, of Des Moines, son of Dr. and Mrs. B. O. Jerrel of Oskaloosa, which took place in Maywood, Ill., on October 14, 1935 [sic?]
Mrs. Jerrel was graduated from Iowa State college in June, 1936, and was president of Women's Panhellenic during her senior year when she was chosen one of the representative women. She was president of Delta Delta Delta, social sorority, also a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron, honorary economics fraternity.
Mr. Jerrel was graduated from the State University of Iowa and from Harvard law school. While at Iowa City he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi and Sigma Delta Chi. He also was a member of the varsity track team and editor of "Frivol" magazine. Mr. Jerrel is now president of the Inter-State Film corporation in Des Moines, producing Iowa News Flashes.
The couple are now on a several weeks' wedding trip to the northern lakes. After September 1, the couple will be at home in the Harrington apartment in Des Moines. (source unknown; likely The Oskaloosa Herald)
