Miss Kathleen Ahrweiler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ahrweiler of Oskaloosa, became the bride of Keith Russell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Russell of Pella, at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, June 8, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Father J.J. Collins performing the single ring ceremony. The couple was attended by Miss Phyllis Cole and LeRoy Stevens, both of Oskaloosa.
The bride was attired in a soldier blue street length dress with white picture hat and accessories. Her attendant wore a pale green and white street length frock with beige accessories. Their corsages were pink rose buds and sweet peas. The bridegroom and best man wore brown business suits and their boutonnieres were white carnations.
Mrs. Russell was graduated from the Oskaloosa high school with the class of 1940 and has been employed at the J.C. Penney Co. store. The bridegroom attended Pella high school and is established in the restaurant business in Pella.
Guests included members of the immediate families, friends, and relatives. Luncheon was served after the ceremony at the Charles Ahrweiler home.
The couple will be at home at 409 east Washington street, Pella, after June 15. (likely the Oskaloosa Herald, June 1941)
