VIONE SCHUTZ

Vione M. Schutz, 82, of Winterset died at the Health Care Center in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. The Rev. Don Frank will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Moon Cemetery, Madison County. There is visitation noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Collins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Schutz was born May 11, 1913 in Remsen to Charles and Martha (Klingbeil) Lang. She graduated from Iowa Teacher's College in Cedar Falls in 1933. On June 7, 1937, she married Charles Warren Schutz at the Little Brown Church at Nashua.

She was a retired school teacher and taught at Macksburg and Van Meter. She also helped her husband with grocery stores in Macksburg from 1937 to 1946 and in Van Meter from 1946 to 1970. She also worked at Warren's Studio from 1955 to 1979.

She lived most of her life in the Macksburg, Van Meter and Winterset areas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

Survivors include a brother, Allen (wife Elsie) Lang of Iowa City; a sister, Phyllis (husband Grendel) McKimpson of Oelwein; and two sister-in-law, Alice Schutz of Macksburg and Helen Schutz of Pueblo, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
