Services for Albert Donald Beeler, 78, Winterset, who died May 18 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Saturday, May 21, at the United Church of Christ at Truro with the Rev. Ann Louise Welsenfluh officiating. Burial was at Ebenezer Cemetery near Peru.

Born in Peru Oct. 5, 1909, he was the son of William and Hallie Deardorff Beeler. He attended Peru schools, graduated from Winterset High School and attended Simpson College for two years. He was a graduate of Iowa State.

Mr. Beeler was married April 6, 1932 to Dorothy Beebe at Lincoln, Neb.

A farmer, Mr. Beeler lived in rural Peru until two years ago when he and his wife moved to Winterset. He was a charter member of the Madison County Historical Society, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Winterset Kiwanis Club. He was a former Madison County supervisor and a past chairman of the board of Union State Bank. He attended the United Methodist Church in Winterset.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry and wife Nelda of Peru; a daughter, Linda Beeler of Chicago, Ill.; four grandchildren, Don Beeler and wife Becky of Chicago, Ill., Larry Beeler of Shenandoah, Gary Beeler and wife Laura of Des Moines, and Becky Beeler of Denver, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and a grandson.

Truro

Truro and the surrounding area were greatly saddened by the death of Albert Donald Beeler, 78, Wednesday, May 18, in the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. He will be remembered for his many years as church treasurer of the Truro Congregational United Church of Christ. He served on the Madison County Board of Education, was a director of the Union State Bank, was a Madison County Supervisor and also on the County Board of Adjustment. All extend their sympathy to his wife, Dorothy of Winterset, son, Larry and wife Nelda of rural Peru; daughter, Linda of Chicago, Illinois; and to each of his four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Congregational United Church of Christ in Truro under the direction of the Rev. Ann Louise Weisenfluh, with burial in the Ebenezer Cemetery, near where he made his home all his life until retirement years. The ladies of the church served noon lunch to the family and friends.

Don Beeler Rites May 21

Services for Don Beeler, 78, of Winterset, who died Wednesday, May 18, 1988 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, were held Saturday, May 21 at the United Church of Christ in Truro. Rev. Ann Louise Weisenfluh of Truro officiated. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery, Madison County.

Mr. Beeler was born October 5, 1909 at Peru, Iowa, the son of William J. Beeler and Hallie Deardorff. He attended Peru schools, graduated from Winterset High School, attended Simpson College for two years and graduated from Iowa State University.

He married Dorothy Beebe on April 6, 1932 at Lincoln, Nebraska.
