Death of Mrs. Ralph Sturgeon

Mrs. Ralph Sturgeon died at the home of her mother, Mrs. C. B. Holmes, on East Washington street, Monday evening. She had been in ill health for several years, but was taken seriously ill two weeks ago, shortly after coming here from her home in Omaha. She was 39 years old. Besides her husband and daughter, Betty, ten years old, she leaves her mother and one brother, Elmer Holmes of North Dakota, to mourn her loss.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2:30, at Tidrick's funeral home, by the Rev. W. C. Porter. Interment was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Those here to attend the funeral were the husband and daughter, who were here during her illness; Elmer Holmes and James Bagnell of Hensler, North Dakota; Miss Mary Sturgeon of Wichita, Kansas, and Dr. and Mrs. R. W. Lindsay of Monmouth, Illinois.

Mortuary

Mrs. Ella Holmes Sturgeon

Mrs. Sturgeon was born in Union county, Iowa, May 5, 1889, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Holmes. She died the evening of August 15, 1928, at the home of her mother, in Winterset, where she was visiting. She married R. S. Sturgeon October 25, 1911. They made their home in Omaha. One daughter was born to them, Betty, now ten years of age. She served her Lord with a pure and earnest faith. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian church of Omaha, Nebraska. Besides her mother, husband and daughter, three brothers outlive her, Lester Holmes of Winterset, and Walter and Elmer of Hansler, North Dakota.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the Tidrick funeral home. Rev. W. C. Porter, pastor of the Winterset United Presbyterian church, was assisted in the conduct of the service by Rev. R. W. Lindsay, pastor of the Ninth Avenue U. P. church of Monmouth, Illinois.
